The Whalan youngster is the 2010 Junior Motocross NSW champion in the 7-9yrs 65cc category after finishing the three-round series on top last month.

Rhys, 9, was virtually unbeatable during round one at Wollongong in April and round two at Hastings Valley in June, winning five out of six races.

Round three at Lake Macquarie was cancelled at the last moment on the July long weekend due to bad weather - with Rhys at the starting line."
